Mint(pudina):
Mint is good in removing blemishes or brown spot. Take some fresh mint leaves and crush them to extract the juice. Apply this juice all over the face. Dab it on the dark areas of the skin again. Regular use helps.

Cucumber and Lime :
A very effective paste to get rid of shadows and scars. Peel and chop a cucumber. Add juice of one lemon to it. Blend them into a fine paste. Apply it all over the face and let it dry. Wash off. Regular use shows astonishing result.

Papaya:
Take two tablespoon of mashed papaya. Add one tablespoon of fuller's earth and one tablespoon of turmeric powder. Mix well to make a paste. Apply this pack on the patches. Leave it to dry. Then wash with plain water. Regular use even out the patches and blemishes.

Fuller's Earth(multani mitti):
This is again a very good and easy to make pack for making your skin free from shadow and blemishes. Take one tablespoon fuller's earth. Add 1 teaspoon lime juice and rosewater to make a smooth paste. Apply this paste generously all over the face. Let it stand for 15 to 20 minutes. Then rinse with cold water. Use it everyday for greater benefits.

Potato:
Take a potato and slice it. Rub this slices all over the face in circular motions for about 5 minutes then wash your face. Helps to clear blemishes and scars.

Carrot:
Take two to three carrot and grate them. Boil them in water. Use very little water so it dries up while boiling. Cool and mash the carrot to make a fine paste. Apply this paste all over the face. Let it stand for 15 minutes then rinse with clean water.

Acidity occurs when there is excess secretion of acids in the gastric glands of the stomach. When the secretion is more than usual, we feel, what is commonly known as heartburn, which is normally triggered off by consumption of spicy foods.



Home Remedies for Acidity


1. After  meals, take a small piece of jaggery and keep it in your mouth and suck. Voilá no more acidity.

2. To 1 ½ liters of water add 1 tsp Caraway seeds (shah jeera). Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Sip while warm. Have the concoction 2-3 times a day for 5-6 days.

3.Powder one clove (lavamgam) and one cardamom (yalukalu) use the powder as a mouth freshener after every meal. No more acidity and no more bad breath.

4. Skip the alcoholic drinks as well as the caffeine. Opt for herbal tea instead.


5. Have a glass of lukewarm water everyday. 

6. Include banana, watermelon and cucumber in your daily diet. Watermelon juice is great for curing acidity. 

7. Coconut water is known to soothe the system if you suffer from acidity. 

8. Drink a glass of milk - everyday. 

9. Keeping long intervals between meals is another cause for acidity. Have small but regular meals. 

10. Try to avoid pickles, spicy chutneys, vinegar, etc. 

11. Boil some mint leaves in water and have a glass of this after meals. 

12. Jaggery, lemon, banana, almonds and yogurt are all known to give you instant relief from acidity. 

13. Excessive smoking and drinking will increase acidity, so cut down.

14. Try chewing gum. The saliva generated helps move food through the esophagus, easing symptoms of heartburn.  

15. Ginger aids in digestion. Either buy powdered ginger in capsule forms or add the herb to your recipes.

16. A simple preparation of lemon water with sugar can be sipped on an hour before lunch to reduce uneasiness. 

17. Have vegetables like drumsticks, beans, pumpkin, cabbage, carrot and spring onions.

Tomato:

Milk:

Apply raw milk on the face with the help of a cotton ball. let it stand for 15 minutes. Then, wash with cold water. It seals the open pores.

Oats:

Take half cup of powdered oat. Add half liter of beaten curd to it and make a thick paste. Mix well and refrigerate for two hours. Apply it all over the face. Let it stand for 20 minutes. Wash off with warm water. This paste not only reduces pores but also cleans the skin.

Ice:

Rub your clean face with an ice cub 1-2 times a day for about 5-10 seconds. Ice cubes tighten the pores and tone up the skin. Ice cubes applications are not recommended to people with meningitis or sinusitis.

It happens many times with all of us that we attach great importance to the cleansing regime of our face and forget the body. In fact, it is important to make the body get rid off dead skin and jaded skin. This can be done by scrubs. Exfoliate your skin once a week if your skin is oily. For dry skin scrubbing twice a month is sufficient.


Here are 4 types of scrubs can be easily made at home.

Gram flour(besan) scrub: Take half cup gram flour powder,also known as chickpea powder. Add half teaspoon of turmeric powder, one teaspoon rosewater(gulabjal) and enough milk to make a thick paste. Rub this paste all over the body with firm circular motions. If it dries, take some more paste. Then bath normally. This is an very effective and ideal paste for oily skin. Gram flour absorbs excess oil and milk nourishes the skin.

Orange peel scrub: A wonderful scrub for dry skin. Take four tablespoon dried powder of orange peel. Add two teaspoon of honey and enough milk to make a smooth paste. Rub this paste all over the body using rough circular motion. This will help to exfoliate dead skin. This scrub leaves the skin soft and clean.

Tomato scrub: Soak half a cup of rice for an hour and then grind them to make a thick paste. Now, make a puree of four medium sized tomatoes. Add the rice paste to pureed tomatoes. Apply all over the body starting from the neck downwards, to the arms, torso and legs. Let it stand for about 20 minutes. Wash with warm water. A very effective scrub for oily skin.

Oatmeal scrub: Take half cup of powdered oat. Add half liter of beaten curd to it and make a thick paste. Mix well and refrigerate for two hours. Apply it all over the body. Let it stand for 20 minutes. wash off with warm water. This scrubs not only cleans the skin but also reduces pores.

Shoe bite is a very common problem. Basically, a shoe bite is a blister resulting from a shoe rubbing against the heel of your foot. Often wearing pencil heels, ill-fitting shoes or new shoes results in shoe bite. 




Try these simple tips to heal your shoe-bites quickly

1. Make a thick paste of rice powder and water. Apply it on the shoe bite. Rinse of after it dries. This will soothe the irritation.

2. Put some Neem leaves in the mixer with a tablespoon of turmeric powder and add a bit of water to it. Now, apply this paste on the shoe bite. The turmeric mixture is disinfectant and dries up the bite area.

3. Apply a mix of a teaspoon of honey and sesame oil on the affected area.

4. Apply a little petroleum jelly inside your new shoes and let it remain for the night. This softens the shoes but clean them before wearing. Similarly, applying coconut oil also helps.

5.If you got heel shoes then apply some potato slices on the heel area inside the shoe for two consecutive nights.

Milk nourishes the skin and gram flour removes the extra oil and dirty.

Yogurt and Honey Cleanser for Dry Skin: Yogurt is a very good cleanser for dry skin. Take one tablespoon of yogurt and mix one teaspoon of honey. Apply it on forehead, face and neck. Let it stand for 15 minutes and wash with cold water.

Grated Cucumber Cleanser for Normal Skin:Grate a cucumber and rub it on the face in circular motion. This is an excellent cleanser and toner. You can use the juice instead. Take 1 tablespoon cucumber juice mixed with one teaspoon curd. Apply it on the forehead, face and neck. Leave it for 10 minutes and wash off. It cleans and nourishes the skin.

Rosewater Cleanser: One of the simplest remedy for cleaning face is to dab rosewater(gulabjal) all over the face, forehead and neck. It is good for all skin types and can be conveniently used before going to bed at night. I recommend to use it everyday to get problem free skin.

Honey, Egg yolk and Almond Cleanser: This remedy is especially good for very dry skin. Take the yolk of one egg and add one teaspoon of honey. Beat it properly. Now add the paste of 5 to 7 almonds. Mix well. Apply it all over the forehead, face and neck. Let it dry and then wash with lukewarm water.

Vitamin A and Vitamin E Skin Cleanser: Take half cup of warm water and add one tablespoon of honey. Now open one capsule of vitamin A and one capsule of vitamin E. Add to the solution. Mix well. Apply immediately all over the face, neck and forehead. Wash after five minutes. Its a effective cleanser.
